Micador Safety Scissors are designed to teach young children, 3 yrs +, to use scissors. The little flip mechanism pushed the blades open so that the child really just needs to do the squeezing action. Once children have got the idea the flip mechanism can be turned the other way so that the child can do both the opening and the closing actions.
