Engine Speed Groups: These groups aim to provide children with strategies to assist them in understanding their ‘Engine Speed’ and how they can maintain a good ‘Engine Speed’ for learning. This is an ideal group for children experiencing attention or sensory processing challenges. These groups are offered for children aged 4 years plus and teach children specific skills for concentration and self-regulation.

Monday at 1.00pm, Kindy Engine Speed Group.
Fridays at 1.00pm Preprimary and Year 1 Engine Speed Group.
Both groups at Cockburn Central.

Social Eyes: A social skills group to help kids (aged 8-10) to develop their ability to ‘solve the mystery’ of social communication. This group will cover the following social skills topics: Who is/is not a friend? What are expected/unexpected behaviours with others? What is a conversation? How do you decide what to talk about? What are the clues to look for in social situations? What can I do when I don’t know what to do?

Wednesdays at 2.30pm - 3:30pm at Cockburn Central.

Highway Heroes: a social skills group format designed for Kindy and PP aged children. The Occupational Therapists use a fun 'puppet based ' programme to cover the topics of: making and keeping friends, develop empathy, learn the skills to calm down and manage teasing, silliness and bossiness.

Tuesdays at 1.30 - 2.30pm at Cockburn Central.

Superstars Group: Our Superstars group provides a morning programme for children aged 2 to 4 years. Each group is led by two experienced therapists, A Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist. Groups are kept small with a maximum of 5 children per session, and parents are welcome to participate. These sessions facilitate your child’s independence and help prepare your child to cope in larger group situations e.g. following a schedule, following a sequence during activities, following instructions, engaging in tabletop and gym activities, snack time, mat time and free play with peers.

Mondays 9.30 to 11.30am at Cockburn Central.

Development Squad: Our ‘Squad Training’ is a movement skills programme for children aged 5-12. Designed and run by physiotherapists, this programme is especially for children with motor learning difficulties of any description and helps with development of strength, balance and coordination.

Saturdays 9:30am - 10:30am at Cockburn Central.

Bike Riding Group: Our Bike Riding Group Programme focuses on improving children’s bike skills and confidence. This programme helps develop balance and strength in a way that is functional and FUN!

Saturdays 10:45am - 11:45am at Cockburn Central.

  • Early detection of communication problems is essential to each child’s development, well-being and self-esteem. Children who experience a delay in onset of talking often have difficult to detect middle ear problems, causing hearing loss. They frequently go on to have literacy problems if the underlying language difficulties are not remedied.

If you have a child who has trouble speaking at a developmental level that is right for their age, we can help them develop speech that is clear and understandable.
