Bilateral skills refer to a child's ability to use their two hands together in a coordinated way. Bilateral skills are important to develop a child's ability to cross his/her mid-line, and therefore facilitate a hand dominance. Some activities that rely on bilateral skills include: cutting with scissors, threading beads onto string and writing and stabilising a page to write on. The activities below will be helpful in improving your child's bilateral skills. If you need more advice please contact us.
